Weight Loss for your Brain

Weight Loss

How marketable would it be if someone could develop a way to guarantee a significant weight loss with just minutes per day? This is not an advertisement for a new diet or a patch or pill. This is not about a piece of gym equipment that can help your caloric totals or achieve maximum toning and calorie burning.

This is about making approximately 20 minutes every day for a self-care segment in your life, involving mindfulness meditation. By practicing dedicated time to mental and emotional care through activity such as meditation, we are granted a method of eliminating mental calories, excess emotional weight, that we carry around each and every day.

This is not the same as working through issues the way we do during therapy. The 20 minute self-care time serves as the time when we rid ourselves of any and all excess stress, excess thinking or extra burdens. We learn that we are able to put all this excess weight down, at least for a little while. It reminds us of how we are in charge of things rather than having things in charge of us.

It clears out the space, and leaves it free of clutter. It thins out excess mental and emotional weight that we carry around with us everywhere we go. This mental weight-loss is something everybody is able to do anytime, anywhere. It is something that gets easier with practice. And once we get more used to how wonderful it feels, it is something that we are likely to gravitate toward again and again.

I’m sorry it wasn’t more of what might have been expected like a magic pill that decreases weight and turns us into Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models overnight. But in the long run, it is more because it gives us sanity in a crazy world. It teaches us to still ourselves when everything else around us keeps picking up speed. It gives us less weight inside our heads and inside our hearts, freeing us to be more of who we are meant to be.

Over the next few weeks I will post easy to follow ways to get started with the weight loss system for your brain – the way to regain footing and to find your way to return home.
